,256-,512-MB, non-ECC

Minimum memory PC800-40: 128 MB non-ECC and ECC
PC1066-32P: 128 MB non-ECC and 256 MB ECC

The specs for the Dell show it uses PC1000 RAM - so if that is correct, then no.

I want to upgrade my processor and memory on my acer travelmate 4000. I currently have an Intel Pentium M 1.5GHz 496RAM processor. I have 2 memory slots each containing 256MB type DDR PC2700, DDR...

I suggest adding 2X 1GB DDR PC2700 memory sticks. Crucial also recommends it, but as long as it's only 1gb thats DDR PC2700 per stick it's compatible, so you can shop around if you like and choose the cheapest.

Hope this helps!

DDR SDRAM memory has 184 pins, where as SDRAM has 168 pins. DDR SDRAM Memory is a new type of SDRAM that is able to double the read / write speed of the previous generation of SDRAM memory. There are currently, PC2100 (DDR266), PC2700 (DDR333), PC3200 (DDR400), PC4200 (DDR533) These DIMMs are 184 Pin in size and are not interchangeable with older SDRAM modules.

Trying to fit new 1gb memory stick in dell optiplex sx 270 but the system will not acccept it and not boot up error codes of ab yellow but cd green all it does is beep when fitted yet i refit the 256mb...

Hello.

Memory is not interchangeable. Depends on your system, as to what memory to use. An error is telling you the memory is not correct for that PC.

Your Dell Optiplex sx 270 uses DDR PC2700 and DDR PC3200 memory.

Hope this helps.

New ram memory on dell dimension celeron trying to

You should check with the folks at Dell since whoever wrote their technical manuals for this machine can't do basic math. There are 2 memory slots and each can handle a maximum capacity of 512MB, yet they claim the maximum capacity for the machine is 2GB instead of 1GB. Using 512MB modules would probably work.

RAM compatibility with MK79G motherboard

Hi, I am assuming that the original piece of memory was a 256mb ddr pc2700/333mhz ?
i have looked at your board on the product maker website and it supports memory to 2gb of pc2100,pc2700/pc3200 type memory. Be certain however that the new piece added is the same clock speed as the original that you are trying to use with it. You cannot mix clock speeds, either pc will not boot or it will only recognise the compatible piece. Have you tried booting with just the new piece 9 leaving out the older piece)if yes what was the result. Need more help ?? [email protected]

Want to buy more RAM..

Your dell dimension takes DDR ram. These are the specs:

Supported pin types: 184 pin DIMM (regular desktop DDR ram)
Supported memory types: DDR PC2700 or DDR PC3200
Supported speeds: 333mhz or 400mhz
Supported stick sizes: 128mb, 256mb, 512mb or 1gb.
MAXIMUM MEMORY ALLOWED: 2gb (2 x 1gb sticks)

If you buy two of these you will max out for ram and give you the best performance::
