Double image my son tv is getting double image

    I have Mitsubishi projection HDTV 1080 series. On times which interval may be few hours, I see double images for few minutes and then suddenly the fault dis-appears on it's own. How can this problem be corrected???

    I have a Toshiba rear projection TV, about 6 years old. I have always gotten

    good reception and picture. This morning the picture went from normal to

    double/triple image with blurred colors and curved lines along with straight lines (while watching football). Does this signal an expensive repair, and/or the end of my TV?

Problem seems in convergence out section.

TV needs Convergence Out ICs replacement.

If you have TV repair experience and know good soldering work then you can give it try OR get help of qualified TV tech to fix it.

Double images or halos
Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs.

Lightning? Can it be fixed?
sounds like the convergence ICs and resistors due to the double image. You need two convergence ICs both STK392-110 ICs and the following six resistors. (2) 3.3 ohms 1watt resistors, (2) 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors. (1) 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors. (1) 3.9 ohm1watt resistor. You can get replacemnet ICs and resistors at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link.

Panasonic PT-51HX41 rear projection tv showing shadow/double images.
Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?

Panasonic Model No. PT-47WX42F
Replace the convergence amps. That unit takes two Sanyo STK392-110 and you could use 150's for greater reliability. Also replace one or more of the 1.2 ohm resistors in the yoke return circuit out front of the amps.
