I have a rca HDTV model R61WH76 after being on for about 15 mins or so I will lose the picture but will stell be able to hear the program. I cleaned out all the dust bunnies etc. to see if this would help. Thinking that is over heating an may have just needed a good cleaning. I know that sometimes when the picture goes out they have jumped on the floor which cause tv to bounce slightly an picture will sometimes return for a few min then goes blank again. Also I noticed that when the screen is not going to stay on long it will sometimes seem to have a red tint over the whole screen. Can I fix this without spending an arm and a leg or am I just going to have to trash it? I bought this TV about 6 or 7years ago would hope that they would last at least a little longer than that.
I haven't found a video for a 61" model but if your tv is a rear projection tv I suspect that your problem may be similar to this 52" model..
There are other troubleshooting videos on youtube too.
Even if your problem isn't the same you should get some idea of what may be involved.

Sounds like the green tube shorting intermittantly. Have a qualified tech use a tube restorer to check for shorts, or the loss of the 300v line to the green tube.

sounds like your color guns are out of alignment and need adjusting. its a cheap fix with a tv tech but i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself. plus, a visit from a tech can tell you if there is anything else wrong/about to b wrong

I have the exact same TV and have had the exact same problem. I talked to a TV repairman who said it has to be my deflection board. I just found this out today so I am looking all over the web for a deflection board. I hope this helps! Tyson

replace the deflection board. Your model uses the ITC222A deflection PSB-260 You can get the replacement deflection board from www.tvrepairworld.com
