You have to push a loop of belt under the tension pulley and on to the motor pulley. See this video

Trying to put belt on drier but its to loose what im doing wrong

make sure the belt is around the motor pulley and the idler tension arm.it goes on like a serpintine belt on a car.pull the pulley to one side and then put the belt on the motor pulley and then release the idler pulley it should tighten up your belt.the outside of the belt should run along the inside of the idler pulley.it will almost look like a figure S.

it goes on the shaft of the electric motor the belt goes around the drum should be a set screw on pulley reattach to shaft tighten then looosen bracket on motor apply tension and tighten you may have to go to the hardware st ore and get another screw if yours is lost as a tip apply red loctite to the threads to prevent it from vibrating loose they have that at the hardware store or auto store

Hotpoint belt pulley won't tighten back up

You must have the belt routed wrong. Pulley should be pushing up on belt to tension it. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

Kenmore Dryer: Drum will rotate, but only manually

Best way to confirm if it's a belt/pulley problem is to remove one of the access panels on the back of the dryer. For many models, it's on the bottom, right hand side. Open it and look inside. You also use that access panel to put a new belt on since it can be difficult to do from the front, having to reach past the drum. But if everything is intact, then you should be able to "rethread" the belt around the idler pulley and onto the motor pulley.

Here's a common diagram:

If the belt is OK, but came off the pulley, then most likely, your idler pulley has too much play in it or the spring has lost tension and isn't holding it securely. I'd put the belt back on. If it comes off again, then look into replacing the idler pulley and/or spring.

My dryer needs a new belt. I opened the front panel and removed the broken belt but I am not sure how to put on the new one. I know it goes around the drum but does it go in the middle or near the back...

Cheryl the belt goes in line with the pulleys. 1st Put the belt around the drum. 2nd put the belt around the pulley on the motor. 3rd pull down on the idler pulley and set it so that is pushes on the back side of the belt. Remember the ribs on the belt go against the drum. When done the pulley will take up the tension on the belt. Hope this helps.
