How to stop printing

While your question is not quite clear, I will provide a couple of suggestions. Usually when you press the cancel button, it pauses the printer and then you must use the arrow keys to select cancel job and then press the checkmark. Also check any computers to make sure that they do not have a job in their print queue. If the printer does not send back a job complete command, sometimes the computer will keep resending the job. Failing all else, restart your computer and your printer. Are the pages that are printing gibberish or is it the correct print job? If gibberish, you might have a corrupted print driver or the file you are printing might be corrupted.

Why is the light flashing on the right side

If the light flashing is the "light bulb like button" or the "Ready/Light" button, it means that either the printer is:

• The printer is busy receiving and processing data or printing.
• The printer is printing a directory, font list, menu settings pages, or Print Quality Test Pages.

If it's Busy:
• Wait for the message to clear.
• Press and release Cancel to cancel the print job.
• Press and hold Cancel to reset the printer.

If it's printing a directory, a font list, menu settings pages, or Print Quality Test Pages:
• Wait for the pages to print. The Busy message is displayed as the pages print. The Ready light is on when the
printing stops.
• Press and release Cancel to cancel printing.
• Press and hold Cancel to reset the printer.

Our printer was down (off) for 5 days awaiting toner. People continued printing to the unit building up a HuGE number of documents for printout. How do I cancell print jobs in the entire local print cue?...

Who normally looks after your IT / printers as it would be best to contact them. However if you want to sort it out, depending on the local setup, you will need to e.g. on Windows log onto the print server and delete all the jobs from the Devices and Printers dialog. On UNIX you would type something like sudo cancel printername. We would need more information to successfully fix the problem.

Have a print job in the printer that i want to cancel. have unplugged the machine from the network, unplugged the machine from power. when i turn power back on, it start printing 500 page job that i do not...

Press the [PRINT MONITOR] key in the lower right corner of display. If fascimile option is also installed, it would say [SYSTEM MONITOR] key in same location. Anyways, after in print monitor screen, select the job that you want to cancel and press [CANCEL] key. Press [YES] to cancel. Press [DONE]. You might want to pull out all of the paper trays so the machine can't print while cancelling documents. Let me know.

My Sharp UX-355L Fax machine printed unwanted information

Unable to cancel a job

Sounds like the printer spool is frozen.

Assuming you're using WinXP and logged in as an administrator (or with admin permissions)

START
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services

Locate the "Print Spooler"
Right click on this and choose "restart"

This will restart the print queue and will probably try to print the job again or delete it properly. If it tries to restart, just right click on the printer job and choose cancel again..

You may need to repeat but that should at least get you back up and running with other print jobs again.
