Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

My Satellite 105 suddenly has no sound. Headphones don't work. The volume control in the control panel was fine. Any ideas? No other problems with the laptop, no virus detected.

Go into device manager and see if the sound drivers are still installed.

Hi. Suddenly the volume controls for my Sennheiser i300 headphones for iPhone have stopped working. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Paz

I thought this was another example of the proprietary world of Apple, whereas any non-Apple made or certified headphones/headsets with mic and/or volume control will not work with an iPhone or iPad (I am not sure about iPod). It took me many headsets to figure out what was going on. However, your headphones seem to be made for iPhone and sold in Apple stores. If this is the case, I will go back to any Apple store and talk with the tech people there about your situation.

I do not have sound on my laptop, its a toshiba satellite m-105 s-3011

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
if his does not fix the problem
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps you

Dell GX280 Dextop: Very Low volume on Headphones

Are these USB headphones? If so, you must install them first and let the Device Manager confirm they are properly installed. Next, go to sound properties in control panel, select the headphones, and crank the volume within Windows. Finally, crank the volume controls on the headphones themselves. If they are not USB headphones, then the same sound jacks that allow speakers to be connected should allow the headphones to work.

Hitachi L26H01U headphone socket doesnt work

User problem!! The main TV volume and the headphone volume work independently so you can have the TV volume set at zero and use the headphone volume. However I suggest getting a pair of headphones with it's own volume control.

Why our head phones on Computer are not working

Is there a switch to turn on the headphone port? Is there a control on the headphones to adjust the volume (on a volume level on the side of the laptop)? Also, when the headphones are plugged into the laptop, go into your sound settings and turn up the master volume (and wave volume if it is low.. If that works, make sure to turn it back down when disconnecting the headphones).

Also, do the headphones work in another device (stereo, etc..)?
