Hi I'm trying to restore my acer aspire L3600 and it all seems to be working ok, but when it gets to installing the acer software it gets stuck at step 5/8 "install acer TVshare", and I have to task manager it shut (i've left it running overnight and it made no difference). I'm selling this computer and they won't take it unless it factory restores cleanly... Please Help!!!

The Acer Aspire L3600 only comes with a wired network option in the original basic configuration. Some models had an added WLAN card filling the mini-card slot. The best way to check if the WLAN card is in your computer is to check the Device Manager. In Windows Vista, Click Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager (except in the Classic view of the Control Panel). For the Classic View there is a direct link to the Device Manager on the Control Panel. For XP, it's Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Device Manager (in Classic View, just skip the Performance and Maintenance step). If you upgraded to Win7, Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Device Manager. Scroll down the list to find any Wireless drivers that are installed.
(If you have one of the machines with Unix, check the specific documents. My Unix experience has always been wired.)
Try and start it in safe mode. Rebbot the computer and as soon as soon as the computer starts to boot hit F8 several times this should bring it up in safe mode. If you get the compputer up in safe mode try to restore to a different date.
It's a problem for us to assume since you didn't mention the Operating System installed on the Acer Aspire... moreover there are two types of tv tuner card that comes with this model. I hope you'll not mind letting us know all these next time so that we can help you better.
If the operating system install on your system is Windows 7 the click the below links to download
I got it to work by deleting all the partitions on my drive (I first loaded xp, loaded system commander 9, and used that to delete all the partitions.)
Then while booting from the recovery cd, holding down alt-f10, the recovery dialog said it was partitioning the drive. (I didn't see this before, even if I partitioned the drive like it came from the factory.)
Go to control panel. Select Add hardware. Select that you connected the hardware. Find the device you need to update and tell Windows that your drivers are located on the desktop using the browse option.
y-ran 77 cordless keyboard...doesnt work with the l3600 multimedia desktop..it cannot recognize the said hardware...you need to use standard keyboard and manually install the driver for your y-ran77 cordless keyboard
