So I lost my temper and slammed my Gateway NE56R34u laptop closed while I was playing music for iTunes. (Usually when I close it while theistic is playing it just shuts off after a second or two) Instead of the music turning off like usual, a buzzing sound started and it wouldn't stop until I pulled out the back battery. When I went to turn it back on, the Gateway screen comes on, the fan comes on, but the loading wheel doesn't appear, instead it shows me a blue box saying 'no bootable devise, hit any key'. When I press anything it brings me to a grey screen saying to choose my boot device, but there is no devices shown. And nothing happens when I press anything. The only button that does something is the escape button. Which brings me to a black screen. Then if I press any button it just keeps saying 'no bootable device -- please restart system' need help ASAP!!!!

You will need to reset the Netcommand and tuner settings in the set. The little indented button in the front of the set needs to be pushed in (when the set is off). The front light will blink for about a minute or minute and a half. Then, reprogram the Netcommand settings. This should solve your problem. If you need more information, then, reply to this post and I will respond.

well plug the charger into the phone with the battery still intact.....then remove the battery while the phone is still plugged in. then unplug the charger and plug it back in........place battery back into phone and then power it up. That worked for me.

If u can, try to reformat it, reason i say this simple solution is because u already had the laptop looked at professionally, and due to you're laptop being stuck at the windows screen, i see this happen on HDD swaps a lot. The HDD needs to be repair-formatted or fully reformatted to talk to the new mobo when switched out, try this if all else fails, i personally think giving this simple solution may fix the boot up issue, but do make sure ur friend who looked at your laptop hadn't reset ur C MOS and may of not reconfigured it, this may also be the main cause of boot up troubles so make sure everything looks fine in ur BIOS. Gabriel will have a more proper solution than this but i believe by doing this it may help u bypass ur loading issue

Ttry disconnecting the power. Remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then try again.
SOURCE: pc won't boot ...
it seems to be an issue of a loose Hard drive connection.. you can open up a tower and re-connect the cable.
