I can't even tell if my G5417 has a receiver for the new remote

Since I don't have an instruction manual and have no idea what to look for, I can't tell if there's a receiver or how to reset the motor to the new code.

I have a Chamberlain Liftmaster 2000 series garage door opener, model G5417. (Sorry, I thought I was posting to an existing thread). The Chamberlain site doesn't even acknowledge this model. I purchased a universal remote to get it to open, but can't find any receiver on the motor or frame (and don't know what I'm looking for in the first place). I can't open or close the door from outside, but the indoor button works fine.

I got the same problem with Liftmaster G5417. It has no learn button but dip switches. According to Chamberlin, the model is too old with different frequency and cannot be programmed. My remote control that came with it and used to work now stop working. It has only one red reset button. Please let me know if any universal remote control will work otherwise I have no choice but change the whole system. SSK786

Can you explain what it is you are trying to do and who makes the opener?

You won't find a receiver. It is part of the logic board. If you bought a remote that will work with the opener you can do this and it should work. Find the smart/learn button just to the left of all those white wires. Press and hold the button on your remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Should do it for you.

How do I program a dvd player with the new xfinity x1 remote? The instruction manual does not tell us how.

It is my understanding the xfinity remote is designed only to control comcast set top box and TVs. It also can control audio receivers. It is unlikely you can control a DVD player with it.

At best you could try and use the programming instructions on page 5 of the manual and see if it picks up your DVD player. Otherwise it might be better to use the existing remote controller you have and program the Comcast set top box to it. You need to find the codes from the programming instructions of the original remote control and you will also need to know the model number of your comcast box.

Hope this helps.

Remote will no longer power on Onkyo HT-S3500. Once I turn it on manually, the rest of the functions work properly.

I just had this same issue. I tried to change the batteries for the factory remote that came with the Onkyo HT-S3500 (remote: RC-799M). Still no luck. It would not power on with the remote, despite the light flashing and the and all other remote function working. If I powered on the receiver manually, everything worked (except power on/off).
I just pushed a button on the remote labeled "REMOTE MODE RECEIVER" and viola, the remote now powers the device on and off and works just like usual. Not sure what the heck happened, but I would suggest pushing that button on your remote.

I need the code on a paramax audio receiver p-701 for a universal remote.

Hi, you need to refer to you instructions book that came with your RCA remote when you purchased it new. It will have all the codes and instructions on how to program the remote inside the book. But all said and done, even if you find your original manual for your RCA remote and programmed it. It will probably still not work because RCA universal remotes arn't made very well to be compatible to receivers.

I suggest getting your original remote if it is still available. Try going to Replacement Remotes, as they have most all original remotes available and you will not have to program an original remote from them. Search for your model of receiver in their search box.

I previously owned a Harmon/Kardon and used a sensor that was placed on the front face of the receiver as a signal to use the remote control in the downstairs living area. I don't know where to put...

It's impossible to tell from here if your sensor is even compatible with the new Denon but if you look at the manual you will find mention of RC-616 and RC-617 on page 19; and a REMOTE CONTROL IN on the back of the unit.

What is the code for the MDS-V3 Freeview Box when installing a new television remote?

it depends on the make and model of the new remote. The new remote should come with a book with codes in it. It should also have instructions to show you how to program it even if the code isn't available.
If you don't have the book for your remote, you should be able to download it from the remote's web site...

Direc TV remote won't work Receiver

call directv and they will walk ya thru reporgramming remote for reciever. or goto menu, setup, remote, then follow on screen instructions. i cant give u the exact instructions cause every reciever is a bit different and its different if one remote operates two directv recievers. ( like a bar would do to operate two tvs with one remote)
