Most of the documents on my old computer were created in Microsoft Works 2000. I need a new computer, and I am told that I cannot install MS Works 2000 in the Vista OS, but the expert cannot tell me if my documents will open in whatever version of MS Works was installed in the new computer at the factory. Can someone straighten this out for me?
incompatability issues are common with documents created in Microsoft works 2000 with other operating systems. If you purchase/d a new computer and it comes with works it will have the newest version installed. Microsoft includes a new doc converter with their newest office and works progs. You should have no problem there. If you prefer to install the old works prog just run it in compatability mode and then transfer your docs. Hope that helps you. There are free online file converters also.
