MagicJack, Regarding beeping (sounds like keypad touch) problem

I have been trying to solve a common (so it seems) MagicJack problem, that being: while on the phone your caller hears a random beeping sound and sometimes I hear it on my end as well. It is loud and bothersome to say the least! I have spent hours on-line with the MagicJack ''Tech'' people trying to solve this issue to no avail.
In my opinion, the beeping has something to do with the revolving ad's on the MagicJack screen.
I hope someone can solve this problem soon as I love the MagicJack pricing, but what is it all worth to put up with problem.
Thank you in advance for listening!

If you notice, you will see random digits entering into your magic Jack's number dialing pad by itself.

I guess this is due for poor software writing on the part of magic Jack's driver in your PC that must be sharing (or leaks from) a memory region or register on your PC. It could also be due to using a poor choice of register address, DMA address, or Interrupt number in your PC by Magic Jack Driver. This problem seems to have been introduced by their new software update in late June 2009.

Magic Jack should solve this problem, but they have poor support. They may not even know about this and other problems with USB Port Letter Reservation. I am sick of watching their promotional video (the guy, his children and the two dogs!) on their site when I am searching for a tech support email or a phone number.

The problem is due to DTMF sensitivity being too high. Open a chat and ask service rep to lower the DTMF sensitivity. You will then have to reset and problem should go away. Basically the equipment is sensing certain voice patterns as the signal that is sent when a person touches the keypad on the phone.

My magicjack is not working

Have you check the breaker for the circuit its on? Is there power to the jack? If yes try using it on another jack/phone or at a friends place see if it works there. If it does the problem is either with your phone or computer connection/setup, if you are using one.

Stove is beeping and displaying EO F2. Do reset but it keeps coming back. Also one element on the range top has burned out. Is it something a DIY can do.

Hi dear.According to your explanation,E0-F2 code meaning is: F2 - E0
Shorted keypad (also called touch pad)
1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

I hope that helps to solve your issue.Thanks.

Magic Jack- Other person hears beeping every few seconds

You can use Magic Jack customer care at

I talked to 3 operators. The long and the short of it is that they had me:
1. remove a Majic Jack related folder from an applications folder
2. insert MJ1 and MJ2 in the Windows Firewall exceptions
3. format the Majic Jack software "drive"....and then install an upgrade.

Based on this, I think the problem crops up in the Majic Jack software. So far, it has fixed my problem, though I've not made a long call yet.

I found the Majic Jack operators very helpful. Be sure to have them step you through this.

Good Luck!

Re: Magic Jack = the person on the other end hears a beep in

I contacted Majic jack via the online interactive thru Majic Fix on the menu. They gave me a couple of upgrades but it didnot fix it. Then they had me turn the the microphone level down to 1/3 max in the control panel / sound / microhone properties. This fixed it and it has worked good now for 2 weeks. I am very pleased that they were able to help me on a Sunday evening.

Unable to use Keypad with magicJack

Change the phone you have plugged in to the magicjack for a compatible one. It does not like DECT phones for instance.
