Scanning to computor

I have Kodak ESP5 all-in-one printer and I can not scan from my printer to my computor. It says that it is scanning but it is not doing anything at all. What am I doing wrong can you help please??

Make sure that the printer is connected to computer through USB cable.Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads on your computer. then open the kodak home center software and click on scan pictures. Adjust the settings and you are ready to go. download the user manual from www.kodak.com/go/manuals.

If it copies fine and you are not able to scan.......then check if the light on the scanner is moving while scanning or not and if yes then try and upgrade the firmware......the link to upgrade the firmware is www.kodak.com/go/esp5downloads and make sure you download and save it to desktop and then run it also the printer should be connected to the computer and turned on........let me know if this was helpful

I'm trying to install my ESP5 printer to an older HP computer but when I go on control panel there it is not on the list to choose from to set up ?


The best solution to this is to go on the internet and download the drivers for your printer. For example go on google and type"downlod printer drivers for(name and model of your Printer). You can get the drivers from any site there. Just double-click on the driver and install on the computer. Restart your computer. If the computer does not detect the printer, go to Start, right-click on My Computer, go to Properties, go to Hardware, go to Device Manager. You will notice a list of devices. Right-click on the empty space inside the box and go to scan for hardware changes. An installation wizard will appear on your screen, follow the instructions on the screen. You will be good

I had to reload my ESP5 printer and now there is no option to scan


You may need to reinstall the CD that came with it in order to get all the drivers and features. If you don't have it then seach for Kodak on google, go to their site and look for SUPPORT or DOWNLOADS. You will need to match the specific printer model and your operating system (ie windows vista) and download it from their site.

Please clarify a few things for me so I can help you solve this issue.

Are you trying to scan from the printer to the computer? (pushing the scan command on the printers keypad to send the signal to the computer)

OR

Are you trying to scan from the computer to the printer? (Using the scan options in your software by choosing "start" and then "programs" and opening your printers software to choose the scan option)

If your scanning from printer to computer (using the printers scan option on the keypad) and your getting an error code, chances are the problem is you have not set up your defaults in the printers menu yet. To scan from printer to computer, the printer needs to know which program you want your document to scan to in your computer. If its a text document, some people choose "Microsoft Word" and the scan fuction sends your item to that program and opens it for viewing on your computer screen.

There are different programs to use for each type of fax that need to be set up in advance in your printer to be able to scan from printer to computer. Send pictures to a photo editing software and choose the size and resolution you want as "default". Do the same for setting up text documents before you try and use this feature to eliminate the error code.

To configure your options to scan from printer to pc, push the "menu" button on your printer and use the up and down arrows on the printers keypad to move through the choices. Find the command similar to "scan options" and follow the prompts to set the defaults on handling text documents and pictures and then save your choices by pushing the "ok" button on the printers keypad.

Try scanning again with your computer turned on and open to the desktop. Push the scan button on the printer and see if it sends the image or document to your computer screen. It should warm up, then scan and show a preview on your screen for you to accept or reject. If this does not happen, please asnwer my questions as listed above and clarify what you see so I can help solve this issue right now.

Can not install kodak esp5 printer


1st You download Printer Driver. Free Kodak Printer Driver After this install the Printer driver in the system.
Installation of Printer Driver
  • Go to the control panel
  • Click on the System Icon
  • Click on the Hardware Tab
  • Click on the Device Manager then
  • Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
  • Right click on it and uninstall it.
  • After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
  • Driver installation Wizard start.
  • Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
  • Driver will be install.

go to kodak .com download the latest printer software and drivers then uninstall the printer and follow dorections on the download

My Kodak ESP5 won't scan...
