Question about Poulan Pro 16-Inch 38 cc Anti-Vibration Chainsaw #PP3516AVX
I can't find the manual and forgot the instructions on how to start it - I know I prime it, and if it's cold pull out the little blue lever - but I think I'm forgetting something important because starting it is very hit-or-miss. thanks
This is easy, prime bulb 5 to 7 times with choke lever full out. Pull string, once engine starts turn off choke and pull string again. ( throughout process do not pull trigger )Engine should start, let it idle 30 seconds, then finally pull trigger to rev up engine.

Be a little generous with the "little blue lever". Release it after the engine fires a short burst. The carburetor idle adjustment might be a little lean--turn it 1/8 to 1/4 tun CCW.

If it's flooded, (ie: smelling gas?), remove the spark plug and dry it off with a rag., Open the choke and depress throttle. Pull the engine over a few times to purge cylinder of raw fuel. If you ground plug while doing this, you should be able to confirm a spark (ignition working). Put plug back it and try again with choke and throttle wide open and release trigger immediately when it starts. Oh yes, avoid ethanol blended fuels in all your small engines.
