Light bulb not working

I have the same problem. Bulb blew out, I replaced it and it's still not working. The switch on the door is fine too.

I tried your suggestion (and actually thought of that before), but it's in so tightly now that I'm afraid any further tightening will cause the bulb to break in my hand/rag.

  • noangel8 Jul 04, 2009

It's an appliance bulb - same brand as what was in there and everything. However, it just occurred to me that I have a "Maintenance Plan" on the fridge through my local gas & electric provider, so I'll call them and have them deal with it. I'll post back if it's isn't something stupid! :-)

Thanks for your help. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to fire away. I won't be able to get anyone out here before the end of next week anyway.

Hi, I know this sound silly but, I go on a lot of service calls for the light bulb. Most of the time, all I have to do is give the bulb a half turn mre. They can feel tightened but, it might take a little more turn. I use a rag and grab the bulb with my fingers and the palm of my hand and twist. You might need to losen the bulb and try tightening it again.
I hope this helps you.

Wow...... Is this an appliance bulb or regular household bulb? I know it shouldn,t matter. If you have a voltage meter, you can see if the bulb receptical has 120V to it. Put one lead on the center tab inside the recept, and one lead on the threaded part.

I have Hunter ceiling fan / light. I installed it. It worked fine for a little while, than one bulb blew out, then a second bulb blew out, now none work. Yes I repaced all the bulbs, still don't w

I would check with a voltmeter if you can safely to verify power at the light socket using an adapter to a plug in it. If you can not do that, with power off you may want to make sure that the socket contacts are good and clean. Sometimes they can become tarnished badly.

GE model 26 we changed the bulb and light still is not working..what can it be?

try checking for a stuck "off" switch around the door or where the door latches, or could be loose wiring, Do Not open up the guts of a microwave unless you know what your doing, you can seriously hurt or even kill yourself.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

HI,
You may have a failing door switch which is causing this problem, if you remove the bulb and close the door, the the red light out? If so, its possible you bulb is fine, you door switch has failed.
I hope this helps

WS3 Broan Allure Range Hood Premier 36 inch

Hi shealy,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: This hood worked fine until a light bulb blew out. Put in a new light bulb, but the lights will not turn off. Is the light switch bad or is there a problem with the control panel? The fan still works fine but the lights will not turn off or adjust dim or bright.

You're on the right track. The light control switch needs replacing. You might try utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman. If you have the tools and ability just remember to turn off the electric first.

Won't start, just beeps - sounds like door switch problem others have had

The three short beeps could be part of the fault code. Check the owners manual and there are diagnostic sheets on the inside of the machine. I cannot find this fault code in my data base. What is the Model and Serial Number of your Dryer. Check the Power inside the machine at the power cord power connections. You should have 120V from both power terminals to the common terminal. There should be 240 Volts across the main power terminal. Another quest replaced the power cord. Hope to hear some good news soon.

How long does a lamp/bulb of a Toshiba DLP 46HM95 46 in last?

Your bulb may be blowing because of airflow issues or power cycling issues, first does your outlet get switched off at any point in time? if so you may be killing the bulb before it cools, if you turn the set on/off alot and or restart it after off quickly this could lead to permature bulb failure, if the original lamp was not replaced with a proper lamp to match the ballast it could blow the bulb. If your tv is too near a heat vent or the airflow thru the set is not adequate it could blow the bulb.
