I have a CD in my Panasonic S53 DVD and cannot get it out. On the bottom of the player is the word Open and a hole, is this what I need to use to open the DVD player?

as far as i understand, it is caused by dry joints - poor workmanship. Try taking the top off and pressing down on right-hand side the green circuit board with the dvd in standby. Then switch on. If that works then what i did was to take all the screws out and jiggle it then put all screws back except the one to the left of the board, next to the brown board. seems to work now. Tip found on another forum, no credit to me

Do you have a problem w/ people to open and close the drive readily? Like little kids or something? B/c It sounds like ur drive motor could have worn/burned out. If that's the case, take it back to Wal-mart(if they have the same one) and exchange it. Wal-mart is an investment. ha ha.. I hope this helps.

This normally means the spindle motor is faulty.

get it serviced as it happens due to the old band or ring kinda thing in the tray which aids in opening of it.
