Question about Northwestern Bell EasyTouch 26510 Corded Phone

Mysterious -PRO- message on the 26510

Purchased new. From the beginning, this phone misbehaved! It would display -PRO- on the LCD display; when on display, it does not DIAL (pulse) out. I can answer, hear, but not dial out. Leaving the phone alone (5 minutes or so), the PRO message would go away and the phone behaved normally.

The manual makes no reference to the PRO message - anywhere!

The batteries are OK, lights OK. Also could not enter the time-date or memory numbers.

It has now become "stuck" with the PRO message - I tried removing the batteries and disconnecting the line cords, and replacing all, but it's still stuck.

Could the "PRO" stand for Program Mode? Is there a Program button or selection under Menu in which you can shut off a Program Mode?

It currently shows SENT 205V, How do I change it back

This actually happened on another phone also. Somehow, one phone picked up the fact that another phone had new messages saved on it. Thus phone extension 213 had send 222V on this LCD display. Once the messages were cleared off of extension 222, the original display of
CF-BN:213-850 and the DATE below, were displayed. So, I was able to clear it off in the same manner for two other phones. The only thing I don't know is how the voice messaging from one phone was tied into the other.

I have several of these same phones. I have found that when the battery is beginning to fail, the phone works but the display scrambles. A new battery should fix it. Also, take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts. This is actually the best phone I have even owned. Docbain
