How do you move the 'd' sympol off the casio fx-82ms ?

There are two separate issues here.

The "D" at the top of the screen indicates that the angular mode is set to degrees. You can change the mode by pressing the MODE key repeatedly until you get to the "Deg Rad Gra" screen and then choosing one of them, but no matter which one you choose you'll get a letter at the top of the screen reminding you of the current mode.

To change the way numbers are displayed, press the MODE key repeatedly until you get to the "Fix Sci Norm" screen and then choosing one of them. You can choose Fix and then press a digit specifying the number of digits after the decimal point, or choose one of the Norm modes and let the calculator show all nonzero digits after the decimal point.

In the bottom of the screen where the answer goes it says 0x10 to the 0 power and i want to know hot to get rid of it

If you want to set the calculator to display a fixed number of decimal digits, press SHIFT MODE 6 then the number of digits to the right of the decimal point. If you want a floating decimal display, press SHIFT MODE 8 then 1 or 2 to select NORM1 or NORM2 mode. Either way, if the magnitude of a number is too small or too large to display normally, the calculator will switch to scientific notation. This is all on page E-8 of the manual.

TI-84 Plus Silver Edition

I suspect that the batteries are depleted. I suggest you insert a different set of batteries to see if problem disappears.
Be aware that after you change the batteries the display may become too light or too dark and you will have to adjust it.

Here is how to adjust screen display contrast.
  1. Press the [2nd] key and release it.
  2. Press and HOLD the UpArrow to darken screen or DownArrow to lighten screen.
If that does not solve your problem, post a comment to this thread and we will take it from there. Say what you have done and how calculator reacted.

FIX/Mode problem?

I do not think that the DEG and FIX indicators are preventing you from calculating any logarithm. DEG appears to remind you that the CURRENT angle unit is the degree. You can change it to RAD or GRAD if you have to use those units. However, DEG will disappear only if replaced with RAD or GRAD.

The indicator FIX reminds you that the display mode for the results is the FIXed mode, not the SCIentific mode. In the FIX mode you specify the number of decimal digits from 0 to 9 and all your results will show the set number of decimals. So if all your results have a lot of unnecessary 0, maybe you should set the FIX mode to fewer decimal digits.

If you still have a problem with the calculation of logarithms, maybe the syntax you use is incorrect.

Try number then log
If that does not work
try log then number.
