My friend has given m an old samsung c300 and soon as i turn it on its asking fora pin. My friend said there isnt one, but i dont have one. Is there a way to bypass it? cheers, J

You cannot change the pin unless you have the current pin. If you have never entered a pin before then someone might have entered a pin as a joke on you. You could try and ask your 'friends?'

Garmin added the PIN lock feature to deter thieves from stealing a GPS. If the PIN code could be easily resettable, then the feature would be pointless.

First, ask your friend what the PIN is. If he can remember his credit card PIN, he should be able to come up with a couple of possible numbers to unlock the unit.

Otherwise, you have (2) choices:

1. Go to the location where your friend set up the PIN and turn on the unit. The unit will not ask for the PIN. This is known as the "safe" location.

2. Contact Garmin and pay whatever fee they charge to unlock it, however be warned... if the unit is stolen and has been reported as stolen, you may get a visit by law enforcement.

Do you see the power of passwords now? PIN and PUK are two security features provided by the service provider. And given wrong more than three times locks the SIM and renders it useless. You have to get another SIM for a small charge to retain the old number.

Please dont try more than 3 times.If you try more than 3 times the Sim will get locked.And it will ask for PIN code.Both these PUK and PIN code can be given only by the network service provider. Please call the network service provider of your mobile.And ask him to provide the PUK code or PIN code.He will ask you some basic details like name,date of birth for his verification.And he will provide you the PUK and PIN code.This is done for free of cost.

You need to contact the network operator for the PUK ...
