We will need a full range of specifications for the computer as well as the OS you are using, what service pack. etc. Unfortunately, directx, video and such things are very picky about what they will work on. Sometimes there are work-arounds, but we will need these specs.

If you're really running on SP1 I would seriously say you need to go on Windows update and get up to at least SP3. The have been a lot of Direct X updates since then as well.

I need 3D accelerator

Direct3D is a component of Microsoft's DirectX graphics software and is one of the more commonly used graphics accelerators in PC gaming. Of course, before you can enjoy the benefits of Direct3D acceleration, you need to have that particular component enabled in DirectX. Fortunately for your gaming needs, enabling Direct3D acceleration is not an overly complicated process, and can be achieved in a matter of moments. Open the "Start" menu and type "dxdiag" into the Windows Live search box, then press "Enter." This will bring up the "DirectX Diagnostics" dialog box. Click the "Display" tab. Locate the "Direct3D Acceleration" entry. Click the "Enable" option next to the Direct3D entry. This will turn on Direct3D acceleration. You may need to restart your computer to make the changes effective. How i download direct 3d device 9?

"direct 3d device 9" is the directX for Win98. For Windows 98 you have to install DirectX 8.1b. If you graphic card does not support 3D function you will not have "3D acceleration".

For DirectX 9, try this link @ http://www.falconfly.de/directx.htm

Hope it helps.

I am having a problem. I downloaded the game, Battlezone 2, and installed it. Ive downloaded it from several different sources and am running into the same problem. When I load the game it says "Can't...

Direct3D 6? Wow, the game must be way older than your computer. You probably installed DirectX 10 or later. There were major changes after DirectX 9. The software routines to manage graphics hardware acceleration through DirectX 10 or newer are probably very different from DirectX 6, so the game's graphic controller interface can't find them.

Try going into the game properties (right-click on the main executable file and select Properties from the pop-up menu).
Set it to run in XP compatibility mode and see what happens.

Check to see if the game has the option to run without hardware acceleration. If this provides acceptable performance, that is your answer.

If necessary (and if Microsoft still makes it available), try installing DirectX 6. Vista may snag on it and make you remove it and reinstall a newer version, but it's worth a shot if the other fixes don't work.

When i last install Adobe Photoshop its ok... but after i reformat and try to install its ok also... but when i run... IT says Direct3d not supported... on the last reformat the directX is working fine...

It's important to let me know the operating system installed on the system with the system configuration. I will be glad if you can at least reply my post with those info.
I guess you are running windows Xp with the chipset which doesn't support Direct X 10 or newer version. Or in other words, windows vista or windows 7 with incompatible chipset for directX newer version.

First uninstall the currently installed DirectX and reinstall Direct X 9. You have to uninstall the currently installed direct x properly, and it's also important to clean the registry after it's uninstalled. After it's removed, restart your computer and reinstall Direct X 9. That'll definitely fix your problem.

If you need my further help, let me know with the details i've mentioned above so that I can help you better and with easiest instrucitons/methods.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Here are the minimum requirements:
Operating System: Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP
DirectX®: 9.0
Processor: Pentium® 4 1.2 GHz or 100% compatible processor
RAM: 256 MB
Hard Drive Space: 500 MB Free
Drives: CD-ROM 4X

Cards: 32 MB 3D Video Accelerator with DirectX 9.0 compliant video drivers

The most common problem is a lack of a physical video card. Onboard video cards can't produce the graphics properly, and generally encounter problems.

Hi,
Sounds like you need the latest version of directx installing.
Get DirectX from Microsoft here >>>>>>>>>

To check to see if your 3D accelerator is enabled go into DXDIAG (type DXDIAG in the run or search box),
go to the DISPLAY tab, see if Direct3D Acceleration is ENABLED.
Finally make sure that you have the latest video drivers installed

I think ya need to enable DirectX So, to enable DirectX, you must first enable graphics acceleration. To do so follow the next steps: 1. Right click on the desktop and go to Properties, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting. 2. Set the Hardware acceleration bar to Full. 3. Click Ok all the way out. To activate Direct3D and DirectDraw (DirectX) follow the next steps: 1. Go to Start/Run and type "dxdiag". 2. Click OK. 3. Click on the Display tab, then click on the Enable button for DirectDraw and Direct3d. 4. Click Ok all the way out.
