no thats two different problems. The rubber piece (boot) forms a seal to prevent the water from leaking out, that should be replaced. Water might have leaked and ruined the pump. At the end of all cycles is there still water in the tub? If so your pump is either clogged or has gone bad, and thats why the washer wont go into extract.

SOURCE: noise/not draining on spin cycle

I had that problem and it was the drain pump trying to drain but it coulsn't because it had lint, plastic, 3 underwires a looney some costume jewellery stuck in the pump. By the pump underneath you'll see a black plastic boot leading away from the pump. disconnect this and inside you'll find the lint trap and if you dig you'll probably find the culprit that stopping your pump from moving. Put it all back together and Voila!

Need to replace water pump in Frigidaire tumble action front loading washing machine. Parts are hard to reach/get to. Is there a step by step for the process available?

After unplugging the machine, turn it around and remove the rear cover, After that all the parts are relatively easy to access and it will be obvious how to replace the water pump.

Loose drum bangs during spin cycle turn by hand with nothing in drum and still bangs?

your front drum support blocks have failed. remove the tub and, replace or, rebolt them in place so they hold the drum front in place.

The drum shakes violently and is very loud during spin cycle

There are 2 shock absorbers/springs attached to the drum. If one of them breaks it will cause a loud banging noise when you wash heavy loads. This is an easy fix. The part is about $22.00 and it is accessed throught the front bottom panel.

Frigidaire front loader makes banging noises in spin cycle

hi there.......if this problem has just recently appeared...its quite possible that 1 of the tub suspension springs has broken resulting in the tub lying at an angle and causing this unbalance....you can check this by tilting the machine and looking at the tub susension points

Hi, our washing machine started making very loud banging and whining noise in the final spin cycle and the machine was shaking. We have taken off the back. The springs look ok. any suggestions?

Loud banging is usually an unbalanced load. whining noise is some times debris trapped in drain pump causing it to squeal like a fan belt on a car. Strings, threads and hoses tend to get wrapped under agitator and cause noise, too.

Frigidaire tumble action frontload washer loud knocking noises

These are the stabilising blocks. They are there to stop the knocking and noise. You should be able to buy them. Try the manufacturer or go on Yahoo or Google search for wash machine spares. Hope this helps.

Water Will not drain after cycle

The filter for the drain is located under the drum assembly. It is inside the rubber cover between the drum and the pump. It has 3 clamps that you will need to remove, than you can get at the filter inside the rubber housing. It will be clogged with coins, or lint from the wash, and once this is cleaned, the machine will work like new.
