I found this, but perhaps there is no activity at night. Check it at 1:00am, the LEDs should glow.
Camera stops taking images or won't take images
Please make sure that the SD card is not full. If the card is full (display indicates "FULL", the camera will stop taking images.
Check the batteries to make sure that they are new alkaline or lithium AA batteries. See note above about short battery life.
Make sure that the Power/Mode Switch is in the ON position and not set to OFF or AIM.
Make sure that you are using a good quality SD card in your camera. Tasco recommends SanDisk® SD Cards up to 32GB.
If the SD card has its write protect switch in the lock position, the camera will not take images.
If you have used an SD card in another device before inserting it in your Tasco Trail Camera, you might want to try formatting the card using the "Format" option in Setup Mode (pg. 8). Make sure you have backed up any important files first, as formatting will erase all previous files. In some cases, other devices may change the formatting of the SD card so that it will not work properly with the Tasco Trail Camera.
The TASCO flash is driven by a capacitor and it has burned out.
Mine worked 6 weeks before it happened. Problem is figuring what capacitance it is as it is not labelled with any identifying numbers.
I just bought, last August, a Tasco Digital Trail Camera - 119223C . Took pictures until Jaunary 2011, my camera display shows Loc and the SD Card flashes. The instruction manual does not reference this setup code. Does anyone know what 'Loc' means? I tried to reformat card, I also so not get a Y/N option for formatting. I bought a new card and changed batteries. no change!
If it takes no pictures then you set it for day only. If it takes pictures that are black then the capacitor that controls the flash is not functional.
Okay, I spent a lot of time refusing to accept that I couldn't get my tasco trail cam to work with my computer. I did figure it out though, to my relief. Tasco's directions are a little vague, but here it is: turn camera on, don't connect it to usb port, yet. After it turns on, push menu button, now connect it to your usb port. Disregard when it asks about installing driver software. If you follow these steps your computer will recognize it as another drive and ask open folder to view files, etc.
Those are night time photos and your flash is not functioning. The capacitor is burned up. Somebody could make a fortune selling the capictors because these little $50 pieces of WalMart **** are only meant to last one deer season, or about 8 weeks. A common problem, but apparently guys who forget a password is even more common. You do not need a password. Skip that step.
