Broken headphone tip in headphone jack

hello - i bought a cheap pair of headphones and the end of the silver tip broke off inside where i plug it in - now when there is no headphones i can't hear anything - if i plug the headphones in i can only hear out of one ear - how do i get the broke tip out? tks donvito837@hotmail.com

-   i had the same problem. the tip broke in my frotn speaker jack, and now i cant seem to use the rear surround jacks at all i can only use the 1 speaker-   w1nd3x

Only thing I can think of is to use a very small drill bit and drill into the broken tip and then pull it out very carefully.Try this at your own risk.
