Inkjet printer EPSON L 200 not booting up most times.Makes lots of Whirring noises, Scanner does not seem to initiate. After a lot of whirring and clicking all three lights come on. That's it.

Scanners tend to initiate simply by warming up their lamps and pushing the carriage back to its rest position

Whirring noises generally indicate either the ink pumps or the drive belts are faulty... which here might well mean the scanner drive belt is failing to return the scan heads to the correct position.

That would tend to indicate the belt or the drive motor have slipping teeth or there is a blockage, perhaps from bits of torn paper...

Dryer makes loud whirring noise when try turn on, won't start

I am guessing that it does not do anything after it makes the noise?. If you hear something running after the whirring noise, but the drum is not turning it is possible the belt has broken or slipped off the motor pully. If you hear no noise after the first startup and it completely stops making any sounds then it may be a motor problem. I am no pro, just a do it yourselfer. can help ya more than me. Just have the model number ready when you go there and look at the symptoms. Hope this helps.

My 2000 Explorer makes a whirring sound when you accelerate - can this noise be due to a bent tierod? The previous owner had an accident involving the front end and was told that the tierod was haywire?

Typcially tie rods will only make a clunking noise or a squeak. The whirring sound if would suspect to be a wheel bearing. When you drive, slowly turn from left to right, if the pitch changes than its the bearing.

I dog motor makes a whirring noise

Sounds like this is an problem that cannot be repared. I would say return it but its to late. You should replace it. Or try manually taking it apart and fixing it back. =]

Louder whirring noise when turning on computer

Usually on startup the fans work a little harder then slow down. On newer computers they still have noticable fan noise. Most of what ou hear while the machine is running after start up is the power supply fan. When it starts to go bad you'll hear it all the time.

Vaio PCG-R505EL - fan making noise

I too removed the fan from the housing and cleaned the fan shaft with a Qtip. Then I cleaned the magnets.
THEN I used a really light bike chain lube called Prolink to lightly lube the magnets and the fan shaft.

The thinness of the lube ensures that it won't gum up the fan shaft and if the shaft does make contact with the housing it won't make quite so much noise.

Three days now and the difference from "grinding chrun" to whirring fan is noticeable.
