You could remove the drive from it's case and try installing it as a slave drive in your computer to try and get any files off the drive. If the drive is dead you will need to send it to a recovery specialist but that will cost some money.

If this only happened within the last day or so, do a system restore and go back to the day everything was working Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools> System restore and pick a date..make sure the laptop is plugged in to wall socket when doing this and once the restore starts, leave it alone..dont touch until its finised..Has to be plugged in because if it stops for lack of power etc in the middle, it will be screwed for good
Sounds like you have a stuck key, When the computer is off brush your arm across the keyboard a few times or try to find the stuck key and use a tooth pick to pop it up. Have you spilled anything on the keyboard?
well many off name brand flash drives have software that need to be download enable for it to work other times u may need to go to the computer icon and double click and it will show the devices that are connected to ur comp and lastly u may have the settings to where it blocking devices from connecting. i dont think u know how that works so u probally didnt change it.
i had the same problem and called hp i was told to turn off my notebook and unplug the charger from the notebook take the battery off and hold down the power button for 30 seconds then reattach everything my keyboard started working again. i was told this happens because i donot let the battery die on my laptop or i keep it plugged in all the time which is true the notebook has to much static and the keyboard stops working. hope this helps
several things it could be but im going to look at the obvious the battery and cord hook up
laptops when plugged into contstant 120 power the battery is supposed to go into stand by mode and shut battery off so power dont leak into battery
if you have low battery with it plugged into 120 the comp will still think the battery is powering the laptop if battery dead then comp shuts down lack of power
other thing is somehow you caught a virus that reboots comp from dos screen mode
the main thing i always ask is what was the last thing that happened before it did what its doing now
example= was there a power surge pop up screens ect.
Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it
off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the
USB port, then update the firmware.
I guess I can assume that you have it plugged into the ac power, so you know its not a power problem.
We also know its not a problem with the power switch since the light turns on.
So that leaves, motherboard, cpu, and ram possible problems. Ram would unlikely cause such a hault. Even with no ram, I believe the computer would make horrible beeping noises.
So if its a problem with the motherboard or cpu, its pretty much trash, unless you want to waste the money on ebay or some place for another cpu to try to swap.
