Panasonic pt52lcx15 TV. Recently, after approximately 5 min. The TV turns off. Is this some sort of power supply issue? Or, something else?

Try this.

Unplug the tv. take off the back panel. vacuum or blow out the dust with a can of compressed air (@ $3 at Staples). A lot of the projection tvs had a thermal sensor which would turn the tv off if it got to hot.

That is also a good time to clean the lenses. Be careful not to move them out of alignment. My tv worked like new after I did those things.

Are you tech savvy?...I can give you some voltages to test if you're able to do that, if you aren't then you have 2 choices, take it somewhere to be serviced but expect to pay between 75 and 100 dollars an hr for tech time plus parts or replace the set with a new one.

My tv will work for like 5 min then it shuts off

Hello,

Sound like you have a overheating problem. Your capacitors might have reached their end of life thus making them overheat quickly. Try to check if there is a fan inside your TV. If there is a fan, try to clean it see if that helps.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

Hi

did you see the standby light? in this case you said 5 to 45min. before the unit turn back on, this needs to check the oscillation circuit or the starting capacitor in the Hot area...

Thanks...
