Question about Whirlpool Gold 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher Dishwasher

1 Answer

The clean water fill will not shut off and water overflows from the dishwasher onto the floor. We had to turn off the water supply to the dishwasher to get it to stop.

The water ran after we pressed the Cancel button (it ran while the dishwasher was draining) and continued to run even after we had opend the door. The only way we got it to stop was to shut off the water feed to the dishwasher under the sink.

Fill valve is shot , new one required

Ps

Does it still run when you remove the power if so the above applies

If it shuts off then the problem sits with the pressure switch

The fill valve has stuck in the open position

Could be dirt in the diaphram

Only solution is to strip it out and see if it can be dismantled for cleaning or is a sealed unit

you will probably need a service call to repair the unit unless you are happy to fix it yourselves. have a chat with Miele directly as they are very helpful

Hello,
Most of the time the problem is just the opposite of yours and the dishwasher will not fill...
This tip is about the dishwasher not filling, but the problem is still the same, only your soleniod valve has dirt under the plunger and it will not shut off. This tip will help you find it and help you to replace it.

New Whirlpool Dishwasher filler overflows.

New Whirlpool Dishwashers will NOT accept the same "volume" of water that was desired by the same products of 25 years ago. Therefore the old 3/8" ID copper supply is too large and will overflow the tub filler/aireator (out the air vent holes). I just installed a new dishwasher supply kit consisting of a new 3/8" OD stainless braded hose with an ID of about 1/4". This delivers less volume than that recommended (in the installation manual) and therfore does restrict the flow a bit. However, the flowrate is adequate and the new dishwasher now works perfectly with no water overflow on the floor . . .

Whirlpool duet washer fills with water when not running

one of the control valves (hot or cold) is not closing the water supply, most likely leaking so the electronics are good. one of the valves needs replacing, but if you dont want to spend the money just shut the water supply off at the water supply taps.

Sounds like you need a new water inlet valve. It's not shutting off completely, so water slowly enters the machine even while it isn't running.

Water is full and won't shut off dnby ddw399w countertop dishwasher

Hi, There is a water level switch in the d/w. located in front corner. You can move it up and down while listening for a clicking noise. Sometimes soap will gum them up so they don't move. when it is overflowing, will the water shut off if you turn the machine off or do you need to turn the water off at the faucet?
Please let me know so that I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic
