Question about Nokia 6220 classic Smartphone
Hi, Earlier on today i left my phone outside and we had a very quick and very hard shower. Its a nokia 6220c smartphone. It was outside for around 5 mins. Brought it in. Dried it off. worked fine for around 15 mins then it went off. wouldnt come back on. I stripped it completely down removing keypad, lcd and cover underneath. left to dry and it powers up fine now. only problem is buttons 7,8, and 9 flash up with the number but then go straight off. and also right on the keypad goes up 1 and right 1 and left goes left 1 and down 1.
I was wondering if its worth changing the keypad membrane or if the water ingress would have most likely been on the main phone motherboard? Theyre around £10 so i could try it but just thought i could ask on here as there is usually an expert in every field on here!
Any replies are most appreciated.
It seems that there are some water traces inside. Use your hair dryer without heat on it for a few minutes and try again. repeat the process a few times. Keep spending ten pounds as the last resort. And in future remember the hair dryer whenever you bathe your mobile. Also remove the battery soonest possible.
