We have an AT&T Avaya Partner II phone system. How do we extend the number of rings before the voice mail picks up?

Unfortunately on the earlier Partner systems they only gave you the option of either 2 rings (immediate) or 4 rings (delayed) . The program number to look at the setting on yours is # 506.

Sounds like your system lost its programming.
call in a professional, they need to reprogram the entire system.

I work for a small non-profit organization and we have a Lucent phone system - the problem is that when ANY call comes in on the mail line - it rings on everyone's phone. How can I fix this so that it...

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming2_bing.gif.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout

When call goes to voicemail, it says call being transfered

I understand that you would like to bypass Auto Attendant for your lines.
On extension 10 or 11
Feature 00
Left Intercom, Left Intercome
#208
Line 01
Enter your extension number
#208
Line 02
Do the same for all of the lines.
Go to your extension to program a voicemail cover button. Without it being on voicemail wont pick up
Press Feature 00
Select a button and call it Call Cover press it
Enter Feature 15
Feature 00
Press that button so the green light lights up.
Test.

Cant change the time on our Lucent phone system, posted instructions say to push the intercome button but we don't have an intercome button.

You're absolutely right, you have TWO intercom buttons, or you're not looking at a Partner 10/18/34D where you posted this.

Unless memory fails me, just above the VOL UP and FEAT keys, you have a matrix of line buttons, and in that matrix, two buttons are by themselves. Ooh, LEFT and RIGHT intercom coming up :-)

Got it? FEAT 00 LIC LIC #103 (LIC being left intercom) then the 4 digit time in military. The date is 101 with mmddyy format.

It's programmed from ext 10 or 11.

Change number of rings on Comdial Impact

Thsi change needs to be made in sys programming. Usually with a pc and vmmi software.

If you have that, call up your station and there is a setting for station fwd to vm setting you can adjust.

Intercome ringing

It sounds like the HFAI button on most of the sets is turned off. the HFAI (hands free answer intercom) button is located to the right of the SPKR key. With the handset down press the HFAI button. The green light next to it should light indicating that it is active. If the power goes out or if the phone is unplugged it will return to HFAI off status. hope that helps.
