Check the unit with the external monitor> If the external monitor works fine- it could be an issue with the display of the notebook.

If the External monitor is also not comming up ??? its an issue vedio card/graphics card, some time the vedio/graphics card is a part of system board, If you have accidentall damage protection warranty you are lucky.

The display cable is disconnected
open the MAcbook. you need a little careful with the self locking system. there are fewer screws. once you have opened it, remove the motherboard to view the display cable. remove and plug it again.
if you dont have proper tools it is highly recommeded  that you take it to nearest service centre or technician

How do I fix a Black screen on my MacBook Pro

Could be the inverter. If you connect an external monitor to it and it works that would be a good way to see if it is the inverter. The inverter is a ccfl cold cathode fluorescent light basically a long thin fluorescent light that illuminates the lcd. If you take a flashlight and shine it on the screen when it is on you may be able to see the computer is actually working and the lcd is ok. It is not that expensive to replace the lcd. It is however a little challenging.

ifixit.com shows step by step how to fix or repair or replace anything on the mac.

My hp CPTOH-0602 was flickering and then stopped and now the screen is dark with a big black area in the top left corner

it was a screen back light failure, the lamp get busted in the upper portion of the panel display. to access this part you will need to remove the back cover using a philip screw driver. the back light is covered with metal shielding.to replaced the back light, be careful in disassembling the cover not to damaged the lcd screen panel.

Acer aspire 4752z-4432 dropped on ground and now no picture

The screen is cracked and that is why you see black blobs. Probably the hard disk is also broken.

Dark or black screen when I open my notebook

Try resetting your NVRAM. Shut down your macbook. Press the startup button and then press Commmand-P-R keys simultaneously untill you hear two beeps. Then release the keys and allow the computer to start up.
If this does not cure the problem you may have a failing inverter board. Easily replace but not for the faint of heart.

Macbook screen blotches

If you go to turn on your laptop and loads to your os and the spots on the screen remain there then most likely you have ruptured the liquid crystals in the screen by pressing too hard when you were cleaning the screen with the computer off. you could lightly touch the black spots with your finger and if it displaces the black with a white halo effect around your finger (DO NOT PRESS TOO HARD OR WITH FINGERNAILS DIRECTLY ON THE SCREEN) then it will mean that you will have to replace the screen because it has busted the crystals definately. Growing black blob

Could be dust in the optical engine? There could also be marks on the mirror? You can get a sort of a similar problem in the LG RE44SZ22 when the light tunnel becomes warperd due to heat from the lamp. Best regards, Arpi
