To repair your computer using Startup Repair follow these steps:

  1. Boot into Vista installation DVD
  2. Choose your language settings and click Next
  3. Click Repair your computer
  4. Choose your operating system and click Next. This should bring up System Recovery Options.
  5. Click on Startup Repair
Startup Repair should now start diagnosing your system to identify the root cause of the failure. Once it has identified the root cause, it would automatically start repairing your computer. If you are curious to know what Startup Repair did, you can click on the details link and see which tests Startup Repair ran to diagnose the problem.
After Startup Repair has finished the repairs, click Finish to reboot your computer.
Your computer should now be able to boot normally into Vista!!
Note -- If your computer cannot boot into Vista even after repairs, then go back to System Recovery Options and run System Restore.
That's it! This is how you use Startup Repair for most unbootable situations.

We have an Acer P3250 projector that keeps prompting for a password upon start-up. However, when we enter the security password provided with the unit, it says it is "invalid".

Found an earlier suggestion on this site if you don't have the provided password and also already tried 1234.

1. Turn on the projector 2. Press "Power > Left > Left > MENU" (Opens the system menu)
3. Choose "RD Menu"
4. Choose " EEPROM Restore" (the projector turn off and the power lamp blink red for about 1 minut. Then it stops)
5. Turn on the projector again and it should work again

Svga vlp - es5 projector control key locked problem

Hello
Your projector is in security lock Enabled condition. If you have forgot the pascode . You can change the password by
Use the Menu'UP'/'Down' '<'/'>' buttons to enter the four digit pascode. The default password is "ENTER,ENTER,ENTER, ENTER". After this is entered, you can put in a new pasword. Therefore when you use this function for the first time, pleas input "ENTER" four times.
To cancel the security lock, press the Menu key, then turn OFF the "Security Lock" setting on the INSTALL SETTING menu.
If you call the customer service center because you have forgotten the password, you will need to be able to veryfy the projectors' serial number and your identity. The process may differ in other countries/regions. Once your identity has been confirmed, they will provide you a password. OK.

I have acer aspire 5000, unable to connect lcd projector

The projector is automatically detected by laptop and then included in the secondary graphics or display as a second display component. This means that for the projector to display, you need to control it from the laptop's graphics options, i.e.
>Connect projector to laptop
> Right click on desktop and choose Graphic options.
> Choose desired option say Notebook + Display or Display alone..whichever you prefer.
It should be displaying now. Did it? Vote to let me know.
