You could try removing all of the paper in the drawer and use flashlight to look into where the drawer slides in. There might be some plastic "tabs" there that are designed to prevent the drawer from coming out too far. They may be preventing pushing the drawer back in and if you use something strong and thin, like a knife blade you can push the tabs (try not to break them) out of the way and slide the drawer in.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Paper in 3310 HP

I have had exactly the same problem. Lost heaps of paper and very frustrated.

Last resort solution. Thought that the rollers that pick up paper have become smooth and not gripping paper. So waited until fault occured again (2 Pages later) did not press the ok button when asked to reload paper, and removed the back panel. Using a small artists brush dipped in metholated spirit I brushed the paper feed rollers that come in contact with the paper (not the rear visible rollers). Press the OK button and the paper feed rollers will rotate and try to pick up paper (two times) then will stop and ask for you to load paper and press OK again. Continue to press the OK button when asked, making the printer rotate the rollers while the brush is in contact with them until they have been thouroughly cleaned with the metholated spirit. I also slipper a sheet of 120 grit sandpaper dampened with metholated spirit under the rollers from the back and forced the printer to feed paper by pressing the OK button. Hold the sandpaper firm so that the rollers rotate on the sandpaper. This roughs up the roller surface.

Paper feed problem seem to be fixed.

Hope this works for you.

Cheers

Ron

SOURCE: paper jam

This video explains how to resolve a recurring paper jam on your product. It sounds like the rollers on the rear access door may not be working properly and are making jamming the paper as it starts to feed up into the printer? Check the rollers on your rear access door and see if they have some give in them and roll freely.

When you send something to print it stops, the attention light blinks red and once you click on the green CHECK button it prints again. Why does it act like its jamming?

HP c7180 message "Push output photo tray all the way down"

I have the HP C7280 and I was able to fix the problem.
HP seems to have 3 trays. The bottom tray is for the paper. The middle one has a small blue tray for the photos and the top tray is where the paper comes out.
Well I lifted the top tray where the paper comes out (it can angle up) and then I clicked OK on the problem. I may have even rebooted, but then I got a new error message which is good. It said to push photo tray (the small blue tray) all the way in which I pulled out and pushed back in. Then I pushed the top tray down so all is flat again. I clicked OK and it re-calibrated with no more error messages! Hope this helps.

Paper not grabbing

There are two possible solutions for this problem.
Usually it is due to the pickup roller wearing or becoming contaminated with toner or paper dust.
Simple solution, clean the pickup roller, the best thing for this is WD40, put a very small amount on a clean cloth and wipe the roller underneath the printer. Use a clean dry piece of cloth to wipe off any residue.
More complicated solution, remove the roller and reposition, you will need two small flat-bladed screwdrivers to pry apart the retaining clips, remove the roller, a tight squeeze beneath the laser housing, reposition and clean as above then refit the roller. You should find that the paper is picked up cleanly once again.

I hope this helps,
