My grama has this old lamp and just trying to figure more info on it. All it says on the lamp is, artistic lamp co. NYC pat. Appld. M.709. If anyone can help that would be awesome.
This is a late thirties early 40s lamp from what I can see of this. It should have an iron base to it. Again, from what I can see it is brass but cant tell if it is plated or not but I am going to say not plated. Polished up this will look really nice. The iron base, if restored, will have to be sealed or primed and painted to keep it from rusting again. Re-wiring is a must and you can get the cardboard sleeves to replace the old ones online or sometimes match them at a hardware store. The value unfinished is 50 to 60 dollars. Restored properly with the correct shade would be about a 250 dollar lamp. More accurate dating on this would be to look on the electrical labels on the cord or the sockets themselves.
