Question about Electronics - Others
I cant figure out how to install my dynex dx-crd12 all in one card reader in my dell dimension 4550. All of my usb ports are surrounded by a metal cover that connects directly to the mother board.
I would recomend installing the card reader this way. Shut off all programs that you don't need during the start up. When the card reader installs its kind of touchy, froze my computer a few times.
If you have blue 9 pin usb headers on your motherboard, consult your manual for this, or google it. Take the 5 pin connector, find the side with the red wire, face that side away from the side of the blue header with a missing pin. Make sure you connected to the row with 5 pins. After that you should be able to power up your computer and it will work.
If your computer doesn't reconize the card reader use the cd it came with.

I have a HP Pavilion a335w. I too have not been able to hook mine up. I think I spent about $35 on it by having BestBuy send it to me and I don't think I will be able to use it. I'm probably not the only one who has to constantly bring in my camera, mp3 player, or anything else and hook it up with a usb cable. At first I didn't mind doing that but I have a big SLR camera and several other devices to plug in, I've got cables everywhere.

Where can you get an adaptor for PNY SD micro?

For those without USB headers (the pins) on your motherboard will have to get a USB 2.0 PCI card that has internal headers built onto it. Look for cards that describe having 6 ports total, 4 external and 2 internal, or something to that effect.
