SOURCE: Black box appears in middle of screen

go into the menu and look at the closed caption option----if TEXT is highlighted--this is your problem---select CC! or if it has it OFF.The TEXT will only appear on certain channels and it most likely was activated by someone changing the closed caption options. If this has been helpful give me a vote to let me know.

SOURCE: 42" LG Plasma tv, no picture - black screen, but have sound.

Most a likely a problem with your Y-Sustain board which will then not drive the screen giving a black picture. The fuse on the board may be open circuit & need replaced but most likely you will need to have the sustain board replaced.

You will have to hook up a regular antenna to get digital TV signals. Then go to your menu and find auto search. This should scan and pick up your channels for you.You can follow this link and on page 44 of the manual,it will explain step-by-step. LG 37LT 75 faults Picture freezes everything locks only solution is to pull plug and then restart. Occasionally just get black screen whaen changing channels. Recordings failing due to "time setting error"...

Call out an LG engineer, there are software updates which control the operations of the TV, it would appear that you have an older version & need this to be updated.

Screen on LG goes to black right after turned on.

It looks as if the backlights are being switched off at start up, this will be due to a fault either with the inverter board or a fault with the screens backlights which would mean the screen needing replaced. Contact your repair centre to have an engineer give you an estimate on the cost of repair.

No freaking signal

Double check ALL your ant wire connections. Then reprogram the converter to check for stations again. If that doesn't work then reposition your antenna and reprogram again.

Channel keeps changing

It sounds like a stuck button or switch. What happens when you hit the channel DOWN, does it still keep scrolling down?
Is this with or without the remote?
Have you tried it with the remote and or the TV?

Let me know whether you are changing the channels with the remote or the buttons on the tv and I can try to give you a couple more suggestions.

Can't change channels!!!!

take the batteries out of the remote...now check if you can change channels manually on the big screen. if so the remote is stuck on one signal that channel u said. get a new remote. if still same trouble on big screen look hard at the buttons and make sure none are jammed. also try to get to your setup menu and auto-program the channels it should search everything and then try changing channels. new stuff alot times plugs come loose, goes back to the factory workers...not pushing them tight have a tech check that at your home.
