Need to know what make, model etc. High or medium efficiency???. If the exhaust blower is not spinning to pressurize the burner chamber it will not allow the gas to turn on.

SOURCE: Amana Air Command 80 SSE gas furnace will not stay running

In the path of the flame on the last burner that starts, there will be a small rod. That rod is the flame sensor. Take a scrub pad and polish it. Also check the electrical connection that goes back to the circuit board. Disconnect any ground wire from the circuit board to furnace cabinet, sand it and replace it.

Draft motor comes on glow coil lights for 3seconds

Check that there is no blockage in the rubber tubing(usually orange or black) or the orifice leading from the draft inducer to the pressure switch(round about 3in.)

Goodman heater not igniting, coil does not glow. Do I replace the coil and would that not allow the gas to open if there is no glowing coil?

your correct the gas valve will not open ifnthe glow coil does not ignite the flame which then hits a flame sensor (looks like bent piece of wire usally on the opposite side of burners from glow coil) you can with a long lighter thats is used for lighting a gas grill light the furnace manually that will allow it to run through one cycle only. you must first have the door off to the burner area, have someone else turn the furnace up to when it turns the exhaust blower on. when that blower starts running you have to listen for a click , that click is when you will hold the lit lighter right where the glow coil is, the pilot will light and your furnace will run, providing its only the glow coil that is bad. you may show your ex how to do this and leave her do it for the rest of the winter that would help keep her off your back and you could kill two birds with one stone so they say. if you do get a new glow coil i recommend getting the new style they cost a little more but they are not as fragile, you cant touch with hands or bump the old ones but the new ones take a lot to break and seem to last longer. Good Luck

I have a Goodman gas furnance. The furmance kicks on the glow rod lights and then the furnance shuts down after about 60 seconds it goes through the same cycle. The burners never come on. What's wrong?

Let's trouble shoot a few possibilities:

Can you confirm that your gas pressure/ supply is correct-- by lighting all of the range top burners at the same time-- Do they all light quickly, and burn to full height, without much of any yellowing at the flame tips? That should indicate you have god gas pressure and supply.

Now-- in the Oven itself-
When you light the BROIL burner-- does it's glow ignitor light up, and does that burner light off OK?

If it is only the main oven burner that is not lighting, are you able to remove the cover plate that covers it, and watch it light off? -- Any clues on whether or not the gas valve even open?

If NO gas flow, likely you need a new Main Oven Gas Valve-- Probably need to call your Gas Appliance service person.

Rheem 90+ NG Furnace. When furnace starts, draft inducer starts, ignitor glows and gas ignites. Burners stay lit for 10 seconds or so, then the flame reduces for a few seconds then goes out. Main blower...

Check the draft inducer air switch ( vacuum diaphragm switch) If the switch is opening when the burner starts, you might have a blockage on air piping coming into the furnace. Also prime the condensate trap on the condensate drain from the combustion fan. Also check the gas pressure, if your gas pressure is dropping, the gas pressure switch will shut it down. If it's too high the moment it comes on could raise the pressure in the furnace dropping out the combustion fan proving switch.

Cold air comes out of our regesters

The first thing you can do is turn the thermostat all the way up

Second turn the furnace off and wait a few minutes, turn back on and if you are lucky it will start-up and you can move on.

If this is a gas furnace, with the burner exposed,
the induced fraft blower should tuern on, and then
the glow coil should glow after a few seconds the
gas should light.

If you can you need to be a little more clear about
what is happening as I described

How do you light pilot light?

Dryer does not have pilot light.  There is an ignitor that glows when the dryer is started and lights the flame when the gas begins to flow.  With the front of the dryer off start it up and look for the glow. when it glows hot enough (or on a newer model it might be a spark) the gas should ignite.  When the flame sensor sees that the gas is ignited it shuts off the ignitor and keeps the gas valve open until the temperature sensor gets high and shuts it off.  When the temp sensor cools down the cycle repeats.
If no glow or spark-->bad ignitor If no gas flow-->bad flame sensor or bad gas valve coil If gas comes on and goes off quickly-->lint filter and/or vent pipe or outlet may be clogged or bad flame sensor.

Kenmore gas dryer 80series model 110.c72852101

if you hear the valve clicking but no gas the valve is bad.when the burner lights theres a probe that senses that it is lit and sends a microvoltage back to the controller to tell its lit.check to make sure all ground wires are grounded to a clean metal surface.
