What comes on, the startup screen ? That's in 800X600 mode. Can you use a different monitor to see the computer program? If XP is having a booting problem, the "startup" screen shows, then starts loading programs. XP could be locking up after that initial screen or the screen driver is corrupt. Try booting in "safe mode - F8" and see if the screen works.
