Re: cant get newly built pc to start

Well, this problem can be caused by several reasons; ‘corrupt boot files, settings for hard drive are not correct, floppy or CD in drive causing issue, boot devices not set properly, BIOS corrupt or not set properly, connections loose or disconnected, or bad hard drive or other bad hardware.’

Desktop hangs at "verifying dmi pool data"

Hello here is the MSI homepage:

Here is an overwiev of the problem:

Try to go into your BIOS and make sure that the harddrive with the Windows installed is correctly set as the primary boot device. Choose the HDD as primary boot device, followed by CD-ROM/Floppy. Also make sure that the HDD is set to auto-detect within the BIOS utility.

If you have any discs or diskettes in the CD-ROM or floppy drive(s) then please remove these and try and boot up again, this is to make sure the system is not trying to boot from another device.

Make sure ALL cables are 100% connected to the system and are not loose at any scale. If any of the above does not work then try and reset the CMOS using the CMOS jumper.

If still nothing above fixes the issue then you may have to replace/fix the master boot record on the harddrive, or renew the harddrive as this may be the cause of the problem.

Good luck

Motherboard problem. before bootscreen appear it displays verifying DMI pool data. how to disable it? please help.........MCP6P M2+ Ver. 6.x

If the system boots up after the verification, there's no problem, it is a built-in bios feature which checks the computer settings/input-output devices/hardwares/softwares,etc.. If there's problem after this, then you should set you Bios settings to default and check if it's helps or not. Let me know if you still have another problem. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Verifying DMI pool data

Possible main memory fault; swap memory modules if you have more than one installed. Otherwise, clear the CMOS contents in the Bios and re-configure. ( remove the coin battery and short circuit the battery socket contacts then re-install the battery )
