Re: Play divx movies
Usually, DVD players that play DIVX are very specific on which version it will play; you might want to check this link out: https://vod.divx.com/how/
Oddly enough the P350H manual says nothing about DIVX playback.

Sorry you cannot do anything about it. All it will do is play JPEG photo CD's and play MP3/WMA audio files other than the regular DVD disc. It has no DIVX codec for playing downloaded movies. And one cannot load it.
If you are talking about the fact that this player zooms picture when playing divx and does not allow manual correction, my solution was to go out and buy a pioneer player today (DV-220VK). It's strange as the samsung plays normal dvd format fine but they have obviously got the divx playback wrong. So far the pioneer has been great!
First of all do you have the right kkind of dvd player?
I have a dvd player that plays DIVX movies, so I use Roxio software and burn a data cd of an avi. file. From my understanding AVI, DIVX, & MP4 can be read as a divx. Make sure you close you secission on the disc or it wont play.
Don't know if I can help or not, but this what I do.
I've downloaded the DIVx player and converter software (free) to my computer. I can download mpeg, avi movies, etc, and convert them to DIVx format if I need to. The DIVx player has a 'burn' feature that is fast and burns them in a DIVx format. My old DVD Recorder will not play DIVx format but my 'cheap' Phillips will. I just keep it hooked up to my old DVD recorder through the front RCA input jacks. When I want to play a DIVx movie and watch it on the TV, I use the cheap Phillips player. I have to change the input on my old DVD Recorder to 'Front Input. I usually record the movie on a DVD R in my DVD Recorder while I'm watching it if I want to keep a copy to play later on the DVD Recorder. Most of the time, I burn the movies to RW DVD and erase them later.
I don't remember the web site for the DIVx players and converters, but you should be able to find it with a search.
You can not view from the USB, since the USB port on the DVD player is ver 1.1. The transfer speed is to slow to watch a movie. Alternatively you can copy your movie from your flashdrive to the harddrive and watch from there. You will see what I mean with slow speed when you copy the movie. It takes ages.
Its not supposed to play Dix AVI movie files. For a DVD player to play anything other than a DVD movie the manufacturer must pay royalties to who ever owns the patent, for example they would have to pay Philips say $1 for every DVD player made that plays VCD's, that may not sound a lot but, make 100,000 dvd players and they would have to pay Philips $100,000. The technology has to be put into the device for it to work. Hope that helps.
