Hi,

The Toshiba Satellite pro 6000 doesn't have a built in microphone as far as I can remember but it does have a microphone socket at the front next to the headphone socket. Both sockets are on the bottom left hand side left if looking from the front. The microphone one is the one on the left, if you look closely there are symbols next to each of the sockets, one looks like headphones the other like a microphone.

Hope that helps

Chris

I have a toshiba satellite a200 with a built in microphone, it says that's it it working but when i go to record my voice nothing is there. It is just static. Or when i'm on skype the other person can't...

There are two main sources windows uses for Audio In (what you are trying to do) usually there is a Mic or audio in port (headphone jack) and there is a built in microphone. You may need to tell windows to listen to the built in microphone instead of the mic in port on the laptop. To do this right click the speaker icon in your system tray (down near the time) and click on Recording devices. If you are using windows 7 you will see your available recording devices with a sound bar next to them and you will see movement on the sound bar as you make noise. Just make sure you set your default device to the internal microphone here and you should be all set.

Do toshiba satellites c655 have a built in mic?

The Toshiba Satellite C655 does not have a built in microphone, but it does have a mono microphone jack.
The following website has microphones that are compatible with the microphone jack. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007675%20600011221&IsNodeId=1&name=3.5mm
You may verify at Toshiba's C655 website. It says "No Webcam and microphone built into LCD bezel". http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/C650/C655-S5049
Compared with the L670. It says "Webcam and microphone built into LCD bezel". http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite-pro/L670/L670-EZ1710
I hope this answers your question.
Sincerely, Nathan Hicks

I have a Toshiba Laptop PC. It is a Satellite Pro L300 Series. I wonder if it has a built in microphone so that I can add a voice/music clip to my power point slides. I do not have a separate...

Most laptops do have Microphones built in. I do not know for definate that your laptop does, but you can easily test it to find out.

1. Go to the volume control (double click the speaker icon near the clock on the taskbar), go to recording properties and select microphone as the recording source and set the slider to about 80%.

2. Bring up microsoft sound recorder (its in the start menu somewhere) and click record... when you speak you should see a voice print appear in the sound recorder window.

If you do not see a voiceprint, then you probably dont have a built in microphone, but if you do see a voiceprint as you speak then you do have a microphone built in and you can record into your powerpoint shows to your hearts content.

Hope this helps!

Toshiba laptop Microphone Not working or Non-existant?

Click Start/All Programs/Accessories/Sound Recorder. Click Start Recording and talk to your computer in a normal voice. When you finish click Stop Recording. Type in a file name and click save. Open the file and play it. If it works you have a built in mike, otherwise buy yourself an external, which I recommend anyway, because the built in mikes are generally not good enough for voice recognition or VOIP.

Microphone is not working

You need to check that all of your sound devices are enabled. Most laptops will shut down certain devices when on battery to conserve power.

There are setting available to alter the microphone gain in the sound settings part of the control panel. Under Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. Check the sound recording section under audio, make sure the microphone is enabled and that the volume slider is not at minimum. Under XP there is a test hardware button that should help.

Transfer recording from tape recorder to computer

Use a cable running from the headphone jack on the recorder into your PC microphone jack. Then you can capture the audio using Windows MovieMaker software that comes with Windows XP. I have done this and it worked perfectly.
