Your speed sensor might be hanging up.when you changed the trans oil and filter did your old oil smell burnt, and make sure you put the right fluid init.If your oil is burnt looks like you have a big job ahead of you.
On the right side of the vehicle is the oil filter box next to the filter is the oil pressure sensor.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lexia-3 V47
This is not a answer but a question, Is it a automatic trans?. The hondas made for USDM seam to have trans problems with the automatics, Manuel trans work great but autos have problems, It may need a new trans just like the dodge FWD transmissions.
But you can get some more time out of it by changing the trans fluid and filter and if you need a rebuild you can get it done for near $1000.00 some shops charge over $2,500.00 just get a warranty with the rebuild that matches the factory warranty for the drivetrain when the car was purchased to make sure it was done correctly. I would recomend flushing the trans and changing the filter to " See what happens " after all it is cheaper than a rebuild and worth the chance.
It could also be a bad sensor that a code should come up thru the ECU, Or it could be a pluged catalitic converter, All of which should come up with a diagnostics test. The question is very open to possible problems you may have so first thing is to have a diagnostic test done to read the code to narrow down the problem.
10 minuts really isnt enough time to even get up to operating tempature much less overheat. I would suspect from what you describe you may have a head gasket problem. compression from the cylinder will leak into the cooling system and push out the coolant. The fact that you have oil residue may confirm this. Does the temp guage read high when this happens or a warning light come on?... im suspecting probably not. There also could be an outside chance of a cracked head or block. most likely not but always an outside chance. Good Luck!!
Don't listen to him you have a cloged govener switch. I work for jeep have a profesionall mechanic replaced the solinoid pack and the valve body and flush the trans flush and put in a new filter good luck it will be a lot cheeper than overhauling the trans.
