Most likely the pin has a small curve in it causeing it to stay out just replace the pin and never oil the external parts this causes dirt to build up on the pin and other oarts only oil in the inlet nipple! this is also true on any cordless nailer.

Framers 702xp won't drive a nail more than an inch into wood and sometimes won't retract the pin all the way.

Before you use the tool put a few drops of oil into the air line input. The pin may be sticking. You could try spraying WD40 into the area where the nail comes out also.
Sometimes dirt can build up in the region that the pin slides in and other moving parts and cause them to stick so you may have to dismantle the gun to clean it. Spray WD40 on all moving parts before re-assembly.

My craftsman framing nailer has two nails jammed in head. Is this something I can repair myself?

Yes, just disconnect the air line and get in there and dig them nails out, don't wait for somebody else to work on it. Do it yourself. The front of that gun should lift up and expose the nails coming through, pull them out with pliers, make it clear, then reload and fire it back up and see what happens, a lot of times the generic nails will clog up.

F28 ww framinf nailers. 4 relatively new

It sounds like you are using the wring nails. check the recommended nails and the degree of the strips. there is a large variety of degree's available if it is a Bostitch usually 28* is what your looking for. next the gauge of nails need to match and then whether or not they are paper collated or wire. that will cause problems like that all day. hope this helps

When I fire my im250 the firing pin often does not retract fully, so not letting the next nail to progress. I regularly clean and lub the gun and it fires all the time so the problem is not at that end of...

Using a wire "toothbrush" size brush, clean the track in front of the gun where the pin slides - where the nail groove is. **** particles from the nails and the plating from the nails sluffs off fouling the path and causes the pin to stick. After several cleanings of my gun, I noticed that this brushing of the track the firing pin follows keeps it operating for several days without the problem recurring!

Paslode framing nailer when fired pin stays out wont retract

Check the anvil guide for damage first (ie: burrs, nicks, etc.) Then go to the chamber for the return spring. That is where your problems are.
