Question about HP OfficeJet 6210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP OfficeJet 6110 (4 years old) makes short grinding noises during printing. Occasionally the printer stops and asks to have the door opened and the jam cleared. The problem is gradually getting worse. Clearly a worn gear in the paper feed mechanism. Is it user replaceable?

Try first to clean the encoder strip. It's the clear strip behind the printhead. Either use a Q-tip dampened slightly, or small towel. Don't apply too much pressure though, it can come off and they are hard to put back.

Insert left cartridge error message. Replaced. Still an issue. My printer makes a noise - like it is trying to clear itself. Both Cartridges have been replaced. I have even unplugged the unit and it...

On the control panel of the printer -

Press the Setup Button
Scroll till you find Tools Options - Press OK
Look for Printer Alignment - Press OK

IF the alignment goes thru well, your printer will be able to print/scan/copy.

If it still makes grinding noise or makes unusual noise, Turn off the printer and open the rear access door. Clean the rollers with lint free cloth. Close the door. Open the front access door and check if the carriage moves freely ( cartridge holder ) and check for any obstruction.

If you tried the above steps and still unable to make the printer work, it could be hardware failure.

Regards,
Ron

My HP Officejet 4500 keeps telling my to align my printer cartridges and I have done it several times. After I align them and print something it requires me to align them again.

Try removing the cartridges, closing the printer, and disconnect the power. Let sit for at least 10 minutes, then hook up the power, wait until it stops making noises, the reinstall the cartridges, black first, then color, and if the alignment comes up again, press cancel. This should remove the error.

My HP 66110 will not start up. There is a grateing sound when on button is pressed, there is no paper jamed in system.

Try unplugging the printer and opening the door where the printing heads are, and make the sure belt that moves the print carriage back and forth is not broken or damaged. Pull the belt so that the print carriage is moved to a different position than where it usually parks, and that may unjam or reset the mechanism. The grinding sound might be coming from the scanning mechanism, or the scanning sheet feeder. Try manually turning the wheels for the feeder and make sure they turn.

I am receiving an error message on my HP Officejet 6110 printer screen that prevents the printer from functioning. The message is "Open door. Clear carriage jam and then press enter." I've tried opening...

yes, that is a carriage jam and not paper, the grinding is from the clean station that gets blocked with dried ink and cant move. you need to open the printer and clean the ink off of the clean station so it can clean properly and not cause a carriage jam.

Officejet 6210 noisy rollers

i believed this issue is on the mechanical side of the printer.if the grinding noise is very noisy if you still have the warranty of the printer you can go ahead an ask for the replacement of the printer coz it is an issue with the mechanical part of the printer..
