Re: my kirby has no suction

Even if you have a new belt, do everything this guide tells you to do. The seller may have the power nozzle assembled improperly. If the brushroll is in wrong or the base plate is not on correctly, it may cause these symptoms.

Hope this helps,

I don't understand how to get the kirby belt on!

it's very easy: take off the nozzle, make sure the green arrows allign, then turn the knob anti clockwise untill the red arrows allign, make sure the belt is on the hook[ look at the back of the nozzle and loock in the hole to see if the belt on the hook. Now and only now you put the nozzle back onto the machine. the you turn the knob clockwise untill the green arrows allign...........

Put the belt over the brush roll, set it in the middle, put the brush roll into the head and put on the bottom plate. Turn the big knob on the front of the nozzle to catch the belt, turn it until it locks into place. Then put the nozzole onto the front of the vac, then turn the knob all of the way the other direction, it will put it on the motor pulley.

How do I change my kirby g4 to sweep/mop mode?

Turn the belt lifter to red arrows matching to sweep the kitchen floor. This stops the brushroll from turning and allows you to use straight suction. There is a hard floor pad available...see the link to my guide and you may find one for sale...
As for mopping...I just dump a small bit of soapy water on the floor and run my Kirby shampooer (with no solution in the tank) on the lowest setting to scrub, then I dry mop behind it to pick up the excess water. There really are no instructions in the manual for scrubbing linoleum, but I just improvised. It splashes a bit, but better than getting down on hands and knees. Here is a guide to hook up the shampooer...

Hope this helps a bit...

Kirby G 6 but it only blows air out, no suction. Also how do you detach the cloth bag to wash it?

I have the solution for the cloth bag laundering process...

Here is a link to my guide for cleaning the Kirby cloth bag...

It should be helpful. :0)

The Tech Drive problem SHOULD be able to be fixed easily and fairly cheaply by a vac shop or Kirby distributor. There is an adjustment that needs to be made, but it shouldn't require purchasing any parts.

Roller brush doesn't move

Here is a online's for the G series Kirbys. They're similar enough that it should help. Pay special attention to the belt lifting's exactly the same as for the Heritage II, and it's also where I think your problem lies. I have a Heritage II manual available too! Hope I have helped...
