Question about HP Compaq Presario R3000T (PF140UA) PC Notebook
It needs an inverter most likely.. Cheap component and easy to replace. When CCFL's are failing generally you will see a pink hue and then it drops out. Weve replaced too many to list. E-bay for the inverter unless you can change the Coil wound transformer on it.. (Most common faile on laptop inverters)..

It could be a couple of things. Were you able to power up the laptop you got the screen from? If so did it look ok on that one?
If you can sort of see the screen you may just need to turn up the brightness. You can do this on most laptops by holding the FN key and pressing one of the F1-F10 key (there should be a picture on the key to help you figure out which one it is.)
If you can just barely see the screen you may have a bad backlight or bad inverter. Both of these parts can be replaced, but I would recommend an expert to replace the backlight as it is difficult to find a proper replacement.
