SOURCE: Aircon dont work on 2001 Pulsar. Gas ok

I had such a problem in mine. It would work intermittently.
The thing to look at is whether the little green light on the aircon pushbutton is ON when the aircon should be running.
If like mine was it is OFF at any time, the problem is in the clutch control circuitry.
In my case, I removed the entire aircon control assembly. To get to it, it is necessary to start at the top panel, centre of dash. It prises off. I don't remember the entire sequence, but the front panels around the radio and aircon panels, and the air inlet ducts above the radio, also come away.
The radio has to be unscrewed and removed to gain access to the cables and connectors on the aircon panel. It is wise to disconnect the battery, but as I was not sure if I had the code to reset the radio, I left the battery connected, and just swung the radio clear after unplugging the antenna lead.
Now you can remove the control cables and connectors, the control cable outers can be released with a screwdriver from behind the plastic clips, and the cable inner unhooked from the control levers. Undoing the screws holding the panel in place will facilitate this.
In my case, having opened the control panel out of the car, resoldering all the connections between the 2 circuit boards and for the pins the plug connects to in the control panel solved my problem. I tested it without reconnecting the operating cables before reassembling everything back into place.
It has worked fine ever since... Good luck!

Aircon not working

Take it to a shop to re-charge the system or buy a kit form a parts store and follow the directions on it. It's a really easy job, believe me.

Hope this helps,
