I believe code 1683 means 'ink out'. To keep using the printer, either replace the empty ink tank, or to keep printing, press & hold STOP button for 6 seconds or until the error clears. The printer will then work, but you'll still have to replace/refill the ink tank soon.

I'm not completely sure on brand specific codes, but here are a hand full of codes that you can try, and with any luck one of them will be the one you need.
0181, 1283, 0183, 1292, 0087, 0677, 0859, 0872, 1183, 1383, 1683, 1731
Four digit codes are brand specific. For Chevrolet, code 1683 means there is an internal problem with the computer. It may be the computer, or one of the connectors.
Code 1683 is for a problem with the EGR solenoid which controls the EGR valve, and code 597 is for the IAC valve not being able to keep idle speed at the correct setting. A leaking EGR valve could cause the symptoms you describe. I assume you looked at the cap and rotor and they are ok.
I ahve this same problem. My car also bogs down when going over 2500 RPMs at certain times. My car was diagnosed with needing a new ECM. I have not had this replaced as of yet.
Here's what I can tell you, that code is a DEALER ONLY code, but there are lists of what that code means, here's one of them http://www.engine-light-help.com/chevy-check-engine-light.html, how ever this code is very vage and not too help full, but you might be able to find more info on it somewhere online.
