Will not turn off

I just had the same problem. I let it run all the way down and then held in the power button for about 30 seconds, pressed it a few more and put it back on charge. Now it seems to be good. Next on the list is a new battery. Does anyone know where to buy a decent one? (From experience only please)

Make sure that blades are installed correctly, take it out and reinstall it. remove battery while installing and try charging it again, if issue persist chances are you need to have it service, if within warranty contact manufacturer.

My clippers just stopped working...just gives a light buzz

oil your blade after each use. on the side there is a blade adjustment setting. after you oil the blade turn your clipper on, turn the set screw out a few turns till the blade is free. Then turn back in till it makes a loud clacking noise. Then u will back out the set screw till the baldes stop clacking and keep oiled well.

Clippers are in excellent condition, were working great for a few minutes but I had to turn them off. When I turned them back on...nothing. Would the switch be bad? Is there a reset button somewhere?

Power cable connection might be the problem. Try moving the power cable in different direction to see weather it works or not. Change cable or rewire connection to device.
If it doesn't then it might be that the switch is faulty.

Check internal motor. Some lose strands might have entangled on the motors or other moving part and cause it to overheat. Motor will not work when overheated.

I have cut out the old rechargeable batteries in my Philishave after it has been out of use for many years. Plugging it in using the 5 volt transformer, it runs, but far too slow and has no power. What...

It is more likely that the problem you are having now is a result of the batteries missing. The shaver is not made to be used without batteries installed and running it without batteries not only can cause a few different operational problems but can also be a hazard. If you need batteries, you can get them at See link below.

It is possible that your motor brushes are bad. You can not replace them but you can check them. Remove the motor from the shaver by removing the two metal clips that hold it in place. Then carefully and gently pry off the plastic back of the motor with a flat jewelers screwdrived. Dont stick the screwdriver in too far or you will damage the delicate brushes. You will easily be able to tell if they are worn out once you get the back off. If they are OK, you will need to put the motor back together. Snapping the back of the motor back on can be difficult and you will have to be careful not to damage those delicate brushes. If the brushes are bad, you'll need to get an old used motor from a shaver repair shop. I suggest emailing for availability.

Will not seem to charge and turn on

The rechargeable battery has degraded and should be replaced to get back optimum performance.

If you can solder and disassemble the razor yourself, you can buy a new replacement battery and do the repair yourself. If you prefer to have it done by a qualified service center, you can contact Electric Shaver Service in Nebraska at 1-888-476-1785 for an estimate, they are quick and turn around repairs usually within a week of receipt.

You can also check their site to find the battery you need for your razor, if you want to do the repair yourself, just look for your model number to confirm the correct replacement battery.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Norelco 8894XL will not take a charge

Sounds like you're getting to the end of your natural battery life. As for replacing the batteries, it's not an easy job. You need to have a special Torx screwdriver to undo the screws.

The batteries are soldered onto the Control Board (it's unfortunately not just a case of cracking open the case and putting in batteries in an instant)

It may be worth speaking to your local Philips Service Center (refer to

Not being at work, I can't check whether your shaver is a mains/rechargeable, but if you plug it in and it works full power immediately you've got a workaround. I usually recommend if you're replacing a shaver to spend a little more $$'s to get one that is mains and rechargeable so that when the batteries die, the shaver is still useable.

Problem with electrics on stand

Sounds like the stand is faulty.

Try to find the state representative for Braun, who should refer you to a local repairer.
