Question about Dell Computers & Internet
About a week ago, a blue line appeared on the screen (Inspiron 6000). Now, the display is foggy (for lack of a better word), colors faded. I read that the blue line is indicative of a connection problem with a ribbon cable, but I don't see said cable between the screen and base. Do I need an entirely new screen, or is this a connection problem I can fix? If it's the latter, detailed instructions please?
If you remove the LCD hinge cover, you will see where the cable is routed thru the hinge assy to the motherboard. You may have to remove the keyboard to reseat the cable connection to the motherboard. If that doesn't resolve, then the Cable or LCD itself is bad.
