when i enter my pin code which i set up yesterday it shut down and then i swithced it on and asked for a puk code and i dont know what it is can you help please?

For PUK code only two way i think are effective.
1. The paper or the plastic where you punch out your sim with PUK1 and PUK2 written.
2. Its network provider, just call their customer care and ask for its PUK code.
