Powers off by its self!

Hi need some help with my panasonic lab-top cf-48. it powers off by itself when it is plugged into the wall while running for a little while, but when it is on battery power it seem to work for long periods of time. it shuts off faster when it is working harder (ie when i try to defrag the hard drive for instance.)

please any hints or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

First, have you verified that the cooling fan is working? Next, check to verify that the cooling vents are not plugged up. Also, some systems have cooling fins mounted on the CPU that get crudded up with dust. It's better to use canned air rather than a vacuum because of possible problems with static.

PanasonicToughbook CF-27: PCMCIA/USB 2.0 Card

Hi,
Unless you can use external power to the usb 2.0 pcmcia card, a CF-27 probly won't handle the load.
Their power adapters are only 15V and the unit itself is a P2 433 at best. It's just pulling too much power.
Sorry
Good luck
